Swift911Swift911TM Emergency Notification System

The City of Forest Park will be changing to theSwift911TM Emergency Notification System from CodeRed on August 11, 2017. Swift911TM is an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications. By signing up you are registered on the master list which allows us to telephone all or targeted areas of the City in case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action (such as a tornado, gas leak, boil water notice, missing child or evacuation).  It then delivers our recorded message to a live person or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to any number.
Swift911TM new features:
In addition to saving the City money, Swift911TM offers some additional features for our residents. We can now automatically produce severe weather alerts. If a tornado warning, hazardous materials warning, or shelter in place warning is issued by the National Weather Service, then all residents signed up for Swift911TM will receive phone, text, and email notifications.
In addition to the automatic emergency weather alerts, we can now also create opt-in community groups. If you choose to join in these community groups, you will receive all notifications directed to that group. We have created  5 community groups for you to consider:
  • Severe Weather Watch: you will receive a text and email for lesser weather conditions such as tornado watches, sever thunderstorm warnings, winter storm warnings, heat and wind chill advisories, ice storm warnings and a few others.
  • Public Safety Alerts:you will receive notifications regarding public safety issues such as crime notifications, boil water advisories.
  • General City Alerts: you will receive notifications of street closings, general City programs and events.
  • Recreation Program Alerts: you will be notified about recreation programs, sign up deadlines, game cancellations.
  • Environmental Program Notifications: you will be notified of Environmental Awareness programs such as tire recycling drive, shred event, Christmas Tree recycling drive.
