Notice to Cut Weeds and Grasses

Pursuant to Chapter 96 of the Forest Park Code of Ordinances, owners of property in the City of Forest Park, Ohio, residents of the city, businesses operating in the city, and any other person or entity having charge of land in the City upon which grasses and weeds are grown, are hereby notified that growth and spread of such weeds and grasses must be controlled no later than 5 days after this notice.

Acceptable control methods for weeds and grasses include killing, uprooting, cutting or mowing. Grass and weeds shall be cut from time to time hereafter and as often as needed throughout the annual growing season so that they do not exceed 7 inches in height at any time, in order to prevent the maturation and seeding of weeds and grasses.

This notice shall be in effect throughout the year, and if lands are found to be in violation of the law, a placard will be placed on the land advising that the City will cause the grass and weeds to be cut and removed. In the event that the City must cut the grass and weeds, the amount spent for the removal together with an administrative fee of $250 will be charged to the owner. If unpaid after 30 days, the City Council may place a special assessment as a lien on the property for the amount owed.
