Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of all streets and roadways in Forest Park.

A Right-of-Way permit is required for all work on your driveway apron or public sidewalk. All work must meet City specifications. In addition, the City must perform an inspection 24 hours before you begin pouring concrete. For the proper procedures and specifications, please call 595-5258.

All property owners and building occupants are required by City Ordinance to keep their sidewalks clear of snow. Sidewalks must be cleared within 72 hours after the snow ceases to fall. Please do not shovel snow into the street.
Chipper Service
Chipper service is provided to our residential residents April - October once a month. This program is intended to help dispose of limbs and branches. Branches must be smaller than 8" in diameter in order to fit through the machine. All materials must be placed curbside by 7:00 am the day service is scheduled. Please leave branches as long in length as possible and place cut ends towards street. Do not use wire or rope to bundle brush, please leave all limbs/brush loose on the curb. We will not be able to chip old firewood, lumber or split rail fencing, leaves, roots, or stumps. The chipper crew is only scheduled for 10 minutes per stop, so please keep your pile to a manageable size. Please see Chipper Schedule tab on the left for dates for your area.
