ArnsColonel William Arns - Chief of Police

hief Arns grew up in Forest Park. He graduated from Forest Park High School and attended the University of Cincinnati where he earned an Associate degree in Criminal Justice.  He began his career in law enforcement in 1981 as a Police Cadet- Explorer with the Forest Park Police Department.  He later served the department as an auxiliary police officer after graduating from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department Basic Police Academy. He also served as a civilian clerk. He was hired as a full-time police officer in 1987 and attended the Ohio State Highway Patrol Basic Academy in Class #65. During his career, 
he has held the positions of patrol officer, traffic safety officer, detective, sergeant, and lieutenant. He attained the rank of Captain in 2014, where he served as the assistant chief of police. He is a graduate of the Ohio Chiefs of Police Executive Leadership College and the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety, School of Police Staff and Command. He is a twice recipient of the police department’s unit citation award and a one-time recipient of the Chief’s award.

R. JonesCaptain Rick Jones - Assistant Chief of Police
Captain Jones is responsible for the day to day operations of the department. He earned a Bachelor's degree from Carson-Newman Univesity and joined the department in 1997. He has served in a variety of assignments including patrol officer, undercover narcotics agent, detective, sergeant, and division commander. He is the recipient of several county-wide and department awards. He is also a graduate of the Ohio Chief's of Police Executive Leadership College and the FBI National Academy.
