Magna Machine Company
Will my company find success here? You need look no further than a recent project in our city's original business district to find the answer. Magna Machine Company first moved to Forest Park in 1985. this family-owned business builds, repairs, and remanufactures industrial machinery for the plastics, mining, energy, chemical processing, paper, machine tools, amusement, and steel industries.
Since moving to forest Park, Magna has expanded its physical plant on five different occasions! Having outgrown its current site, company officials decided to invest almost $4 million to acquire, renovate, and expand into a vacant shopping center across the street from their existing facility.
To make the project financially feasible, we worked with our partners at JobsOhio, REDI Cincinnati, HCDC, and Hamilton County Regional Planning. With our help, Magna was able to secure $600,000 in outside funding to complete an impressive transformation of this ten-acre site. Working together, this unique public-private partnership helped a key member of our business community resolve its space needs. The project also converted an under performing commercial property into a true community asset, keeping 140 jobs in Forest Park!
This impressive redevelopment project was honored with two prestigious awards. HCDC and Hamilton County recognized Magna Machine Company with the Ron Schallick Economic Development Award, and REDI Cincinnati presented the company with a James A Wuenker Growth Award. Both awards cited the innovative collaboration between Magna, the City of Forest Park, Hamilton County, and the State of Ohio as the primary reason for their decision to recognize the Magna Machine Expansion and Redevelopment Project as one of the best projects in 2018.
