In April of 1991, the City's first full-time Recreation Coordinator joined the staff of the Human Resources Department. The creation of this position was the first step toward the establishment of a year-round recreation program for Forest Park residents. The Department reaches beyond the needs of City personnel and provides services directly to the citizens of Forest Park. By organizing special events and responding to individual requests for information or service, Human Resources strives to maintain and improve the quality of life for residents.
Human Resources is responsible for a wide range of services including collective bargaining, health insurance, employee relations and employee recruitment. The department also acts as a liaison to the Civil Service Commission regarding personnel matters and communicates information on job opportunities with the City to the general public.
