Finance Department
The Director of Finance and the Finance Department handle the receipt and investment of all monies due the City from taxes and other sources, as well as payment of all City expenses provided for by Council appropriations. The Department is responsible for the City's payroll, accounting,

From 1989 through 2008, the Finance Department earned the prestigious Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for the City's comprehensive annual financial report. The highest form of recognition from the Association, this certificate represents a significant achievement by our Finance Department and is indicative of the professionalism with which they carry out their responsibilities.

Tax Department
The Tax Commissioner and the Tax Office coordinate collection of the 1.5% earnings tax which covers wages, salaries, commissions or any other compensation earned by residents, including rental property or any other business net profits.
