Responsibilities & Procedures 
While the major responsibility of the Department is enforcement of Ohio and Forest Park laws regulating building construction, the basic charge is that of public health, safety, and welfare. This goal is accomplished by accepting applications, reviewing plans, inspecting building construction, certifying use and occupancy, coordinating with other agencies, receiving complaints and appeals, and by consultation and other related services.
