From 1989 through 2009, the Finance Department earned the prestigious Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for the City's comprehensive annual financial report. The highest form of recognition from the Association, this certificate represents a significant achievement by our Finance Department and is indicative of the professionalism with which they carry out their responsibilities.

 From 2006 thorugh 2010, the City received the prestigious Distinguished Budget Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the US and Canada. This award is given to about 900 jurisdictions of the 80,000 that are eligible in North America. In order to receive this award, a governmental unit must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as an operations guide, as a financial plan, and as a communications device.  Below is a link to the City's most recent budget document.
