Dedicate Access Drive To Volunteer Family

Forest Park which prides itself on being a leading community in the area of police, fire and emergency medical services, is naming and dedicating a road entrance in recognition to a family of volunteers.

Police Chief Ken Hughes and Fire Chief Trish Brooks issued a joint statement saying that "We want to name the driveway leading into the police station and senior center off Winton Road as "The Bunton Way".  We want to honor the Jack and Roberta Bunton family for the many years of volunteering their time and resources to the City.  Jack and Roberta lived and raised their family in Forest Park until they both passed away a few years ago.  Both were graduates of the police and fire department citizen's academies.  There have been opportunities to honor them individually, but this will be an opportunity to say thanks every day by naming the street coming into the new Senior Center "The Bunton Way".  We have invited their family to join the Forest Park City Council, Police Department, and Fire Department for the unveiling of the sign at the entrance as part of a special dedication ceremony on Sunday, January 28, 2007, at 6:00 p.m.
