Community & Staff Awards

Steve Bretz will be honored as "Forest Park Firefighter/Paramedic of the Year" for 2006 from the American Legion Post 530.

Ken Hughes, Chief of Police, received "Forest Park Police Officer of the Year" for 2006 from the American Legion Post 530. Chief Hughes received the award for his 30 years of outstanding service to the community.

Chief Ken Hughes received the "2006 Police Achievement Award for Contribution to Law Enforcement" from the Fraternal Order of Police. This honor was awarded to Chief Hughes for his dedication to bringing the best technology, training, and career development to policing throughout the law enforcement community.

Corey Hall and Adam Pape recieved the Hamilton County Police Officer of the Year award in 2005.

The Forest Park Police Department received the CALEA Recognition Award in 2005. CALEA is the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies and the award is for having our policies and procedures consistent with national standards.

For the 16th consecutive year the Finance Department has earned the prestigious Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for the City's comprehensive annual financial report.

For the 4th consecutive year the Finance Department earned the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association for the City's budget document.

Our police department just received a new Python traffic radar from the Governor's Highway Safety Office in recognition for our involvement with the State's seatbelt and alcohol mobilization efforts in 2005.

Forest Park has been designated a Tree City USA City since 1991 by the the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.

Four Officers (Lt. Phil Cannon, Officers Jeff Larsh, Joel Mast and Ron Harris) of the F.P.P.D. were honored with the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary Citizen Appreciation Awards in 2004.

Our Fire Chief Trish Brooks was honored in 2004 with the with the Scott Frame, M.D., F.A.C.S. EMS Administrator of the Year Award for Trauma and Emergency Medical Care.

Our Clerk of Council Kathy Lives was named Clerk of the Year for the State of Ohio in 2004

Our Environmental Awareness Program won the Recycle, Ohio! Government Award in 2003.

2002 Recycle, Ohio Buy Recycled Project Award

2001 C.A.R.E. Award Winner, Certificate of Excellence

Our Economic Development Director was awarded the 1999 Hamilton County Development Company Business Development Award.
